Hey, I’m Sarah!

I’m a child psychologist and a busy mum of 4. I started Mindful Little Minds Psychology to give you the resources and support you need to manage your own emotions so you can teach your kids how to manage theirs. Because I believe that learning emotional regulation is the most important job we have as parents. It’s the only way to break harmful generational cycles and give our kids the kind of childhood we always wanted ourselves.  

My 15 years of experience as a child and family therapist lead me to develop The Mindful Parenting Framework. This unique methodology draws upon theories of child development, attachment, neuroscience and interpersonal neurobiology. It empowers parents to take a relational approach to parenting that supports their child’s development, builds self regulation skills, and fosters connected, secure relationships that last a lifetime. 

At its core, Mindful Little Minds Psychology is about relationships. The way they shape our brains, the way they shape us and the way they impact the world. When we focus on creating emotional safety in our relationships with our children, we CAN raise a generation of secure, emotionally healthy kids. Kids who make the world a better place for generations to come.

And after being in this field for 15 years, I know the best way to do that is by learning how to regulate our emotions as parents, and teaching our kids how to do the same. The Mindful Little Mama is your space to connect with mamas who “get it” and who get YOU. They know what it’s like to want to do things differently – to  want desperately to break the cycle and give their kids what they themselves never had growing up – parents who truly understand and accept them as they are. They also understand just how hard it is to do this when it’s never been modelled for you.

Parenting differently – from your family, from your friends, and from society – can be hard. And it can be isolating. And that lack of support? It makes things SO much harder.
